Mackinley Winslow (Erwin) is a creative but naive ad man whose ideas are appropriated by coworkers who use them to rise up the ladder of success, while the boss doesn't even know Winslow exists. Prompted by his wife, Doris (Stuart), Winslow decides to confront his boss at a party, but ends up being accused of murder when a body is found in the trunk of his car.
