What the makers of this movie have done is satirize something that nobody knows anything about, and since successful satire requires that the viewer know what's being parodied, this doesn't work. McCloskey is a womanizer who has been tossed out of several colleges, mostly because coeds find him immensely attractive, and that seems to be forbidden at the schools from which he's been cashiered. His grandfather has left him a quarter of a million dollars, but there's a kicker in the will. He must graduate from a college with a degree in order to get the money. Desperate, Russell sees a TV commercial about "Busterburger U." and enrolls. Once at the school, he runs afoul of behemoth Butkus, who runs the place with Nazi-like military precision. The jokes are puerile, the acting is obvious, the direction has no subtlety, and the movie will probably go on to make a lot of money. Nudity and foul language make this off limits to children. Downright stupidity makes it off limits to adults. leave a comment
