Churchill stars as an amiable card shark disguised as a church deacon, who uses his skills to hoodwink only those who really deserve it. The farfetched plot is hampered by some bad editing decisions that erase character motivations and leave gaping holes in the story. Still Churchill gives
a nice performance, a role he also played on stage. Some good supporting performances from Rooney, Hopton, and Williams.
