A silly romance that sees Borden as a society girl who disappoints her parents, Tucker, and future gossip columnist Hopper, by eloping with young architect Farley. What her parents don't know is that Borden and Farley have secretly been married for some time now. The truth is revealed when Lawlor, a rival for Borden's affections, decides he can't live without her and jumps to his death from her apartment. All is resolved in the end as the parents finally accept their daughter's marriage. Despite the macabre note thrown into this film by the suicide, there is good, light comedy sprinkled throughout. Borden has made the dialog her own in this script, and comes off completely naturally. There's also some nice vaudeville comedy bits by noted mime Murray. leave a comment
