Talky, uninspired attempt to bring 60s-style "relevance" to the screen. Douglas plays Carl Dixon, a remarkably straight-looking hippie, who returns to the home of his parents (Arthur Kennedy and Teresa Wright) and announces that he's dropped out of college to enlist in the Army.
