Quinn is really the only reason to see this otherwise slow-moving film. He's a rebel on the run in 1746 Mexico taken in by Jaffe, a Franciscan priest. When Jaffe is banished to the hinterlands for giving this illegal sanctuary, Quinn disguises himself as a monk and goes with him. They come upon a seemingly empty village, but Jaffe is killed by a sniper. Bronson, a local half-breed, mistakes Quinn for a real priest.
