Kemmerling is an escaped convict bent on paying back the people responsible for his imprisonment; Brown is the sheriff who must stop him. To complicate matters, the two are old friends. Brown chases Kemmerling; but when the sheriff finally catches up with his quarry, the escapee dies of
wounds suffered during his breakout. GUN STREET never delivers on its early promise. It builds suspensefully but ultimately lets the viewer down. The influence of television on the film is evident; every major character has a parallel in the series "Gunsmoke." Worst of all is the direction--flat
and lifeless.
