Nearing the end of his sentence, longtime prison inmate Colin Briggs (Clive Owen) is transferred to Edgefield, a minimum-security facility in the Cotswalds whose warden, Hodge (Warren Clarke), believes that a taste of freedom helps prepare inmates for life on the outside.
