The Great Victor Herbert

Biographical account of the great turn-of-the-century composer of musicals and operettas, Victor Herbert, takes a back seat to the plot revolving around the marriage of tenor Jones and soprano Martin. Not much insight is given into the life of Herbert, played by Connolly, with most of the story spent on the tangled affairs of the actors who staged his works. Connolly is the peacemaker between Jones and Martin when they have domestic clashes due to the opposite direction of their careers. Martin made her movie debut in this film.
