Menjou is an aging opera star who courts budding young singer Dunne, devoting much attention to her, but also to an array of others. She is attracted to his talent, though she refuses to put up with his philandering. When a past love of hers suddenly emerges, she leaves Menjou, preferring honesty to artistry.
