A routine murder mystery which casts Lowe as a writer of such stories. While staying in a plush hotel, he helps house detective McLaglen uncover clues to a recent murder, much to the latter's dismay. The dead man was found in one of the hotel's rooms, but it was not the one he registered for. According to one of the suspects, he had asked to change rooms, leading the private eye to suspect the guest he had switched with.
