The Great Gundown: Review

An independently produced western with Padilla, as "The Savage," leading a group of motley mercenaries (a la THE WILD BUNCH) on a search for the villainous Rust. Director Hunt can be credited for making a western in the midst of the STAR WARS craze, but his overindebtedness to Sam Peckinpah's violence conveys a disturbing lack of originality. You might as well watch the real thing. leave a comment
