Great Day In The Morning

1956, Movie, NR, 91 mins

starstarstarstar
Unusually sluggish film from director Tourneur set in the Colorado Territory in 1861 at the start of the Civil War. Rebel sympathizer Stack is pitted against Northern secret agent Nicol in a race to grab as much Colorado gold as possible to finance the war. Stack soon finds himself torn between a true belief for the cause and the amorous advances of saloon entertainer Roman and East-coast couturier Mayo. Atmospheric, but strangely uninvolving. leave a comment
