Offbeat (what would one expect from the director of PUTNEY SWOPE, 1969?) telling of Christ's passion in an Old West setting. Arbus plays the Messiah, a dude from the East, who parachutes into a crazy little sagebrush town on his way to the promised land to become a singer. There he runs
into trouble in the form of nasty town boss, Henderson. Arbus brings the baddie's son, Sullivan, back to life after the old man has killed him because he suspects he's a "homo." Eventually crazy woman Downey crucifies Arbus to purge her soul of evil. Very strange but well done and creative.
