A lightweight charmer which works its way into your heart by starring Fontaine and Stewart as a delightful pair falling in love. Fontaine plays a wealthy heiress who has gotten herself into a marriage to Parker that she quickly regrets. On the night of her New York honeymoon, she realizes her mistake, and, instead of entering her husband's hotel bedroom, takes refuge down the hall in Stewart's. Stewart, whose airplane cargo company is on the verge of bankruptcy, is left to care for Fontaine. Assuming that she is a poor and helpless girl, he feels an obligation towards her. When she takes an overdose of sleeping pills and is unable to be awakened, Stewart is forced to take her with him to California. The plane ride, however, is practically a circus. In addition to copilot Albert, there is an escaped criminal, Hall, a love-struck pair of newlyweds, Walsh and McGuire, a trained chimp that smokes cigars, a corpse lying in a coffin, and a shipment of lobsters. Amidst all the confusion, Stewart and Fontaine fall in love. After a crash landing in a farm field, Stewart declares his love for Fontaine and discovers, much to his delight, that he has fallen for an extremely wealthy girl. While the roles are not top-drawer Stewart or Fontaine, both turn in commendable performances, aided by the zany, haphazard style that director Potter employed in his 1941 picture HELLZAPOPPIN'.
