Giant monster tale set in England details the discovery and subsequent exploitation of a 65-foot prehistoric dinosaur called Gorgo, caught off the coast of Ireland. The critter is brought back to London and shown off by unscrupulous exhibitors in a circus, until Gorgo's 250-foot mom
arrives and destroys half the city to rescue her baby and bring him home. Director Lourie rips off sequences from his earlier film, BEAST FROM TWENTY-THOUSAND FATHOMS, which was better and boasted fantastic stop-motion animation effects by Ray Harryhausen.
