Amiable and frothy farce produced by Perlberg before he joined with Director George Seaton to become a major force in films. Douglas is a British professor in the U.S. on an exchange program. Blondell is a waitress at the campus restaurant. Douglas is engaged to someone else but through
a series of totally implausible events, he and Blondell wind up in each others' arms. There's a little bit of what appears to be blackmail, some silly breach of promise business, a satire of cafe society in New York and several small subplots, none of which can stand any sort of logical scrutiny
but all of which add to the overall enjoyment. Look for Dorothy Comingore (CITIZEN KANE)...
