Gone Fishin'

Proof positive that Joe Pesci isn't a funny guy, the success of MY COUSIN VINNY notwithstanding. This sorry exercise, a 90-minute string of cliches, is as lamebrained as EIGHT HEADS IN A DUFFEL BAG and just as undeserving of a theatrical release. We're asked to accept Joe Waters (Pesci) and Gus Green (Danny Glover) as bosom buddies and lifelong friends from Newark (no matter that Waters would have been the first to reach for his hunting rifle when the Greens moved onto the block) and chuckle when the chummy chumps -- who are also accident-prone fishing enthusiasts -- win a trip to the Florida Everglades and get entangled with a murderous con man (Nick Brimble).
