In one corner, Nick Martel (Dewey Martin), a not-so-nice Golden Gloves boxer; in the other, Bob Gilmore (Kevin O'Morrison), a "Clean Gene"; and looking on, the real prize, Patti Riley (Kay Westfall), the referee's daughter.
