The Golden Child

Director Ritchie has had a hit-and-miss career, and this is definitely a miss--a muddle of would-be comedy and Eastern mysticism, with a heavy dose of Indiana-Jones-type adventure. It begins promisingly enough with the bold kidnaping of a Tibetan holy youth, the Golden Child (Reate), from a temple high in Shangri-La land. The evildoers are led by Dance, who (as ambassador of the devil) must not allow this child to bring peace to the earth.
