Hoxie is an ex-rancher turned gold miner. He splits his claim with an old-timer, but the latter is killed by outlaws who take his money. Hoxie, the prime suspect, loses his social standing and also his girl, the victim's daughter. But Hoxie fools the villains and wins his girl's heart in
the end. An average horse opera, GOLD overcomes its stereotypes with some good acting. Even Hoxie's horse, Dynamite, gets in on the action, stealing the final scene.
