A story-teller spins the tale of a young man, thought stupid by his family and neighbors. But this is the lad's cover, for his mind is alive with imagination. The film takes a dramatic turn when he becomes involved with the wife of a town wise man. The sudden switch from folksy humor to
a dramatic tale of adultery is well handled by the director, making this an interesting and offbeat little feature. This was the debut for Baratier as an avant garde director, in an adaptation of a Tunisian folk tale.
