Anything Goes

Twenty years after appearing in the original film adaptation of Cole Porter's "Anything Goes," Bing Crosby returned in this unexceptional "remake" which retains many of Porter's great songs but substitutes a new plot. This time, Der Bingle is aging crooner Bill Benson, who joins forces with Ted Adams (Donald O'Connor), an up-and-coming TV song-and-dance man. After some initial friction, they decide to produce a musical and set sail for Europe in search of a dynamic female lead.
