Gobs And Gals

Two bored sailors on a South Seas island bide their time by sending romantic letters to various feminine pen pals, enclosing a picture of their chief officer with every letter. Eventually, the officer's fiancee finds out and thinks she's being two-timed. Meanwhile, one of the pen pals is a Soviet spy, all too eager to win the affection of an American officer. Although it employs a funny premise, the film is not nearly as daring as it could be. The Bernards are not up to their comic roles and resort to mugging and pratfalls.
