Set in the Blue Grass State (where else?), this overlong and predictable racetrack film focuses on Clarabel Tilbee (grown-up child star Margaret O'Brien) and her grandmother (Charlotte Greenwood), who can't raise the money to buy feed but somehow come up with the funds to enter their horse in the Kentucky Derby.
