An early part-sound picture, loosely based on the story of Napoleon's brother Jerome Bonaparte and his marriage to an American socialite. Jerome (Conrad Nagle) visits Baltimore in disguise, passing himself off as a tutor. He's engaged to give French lessons to the well-bred Elizabeth Patterson (Dolores Costello), and winds up falling in love with her.
