The Glass Wall

1953, Movie, NR, 78 mins

Gassman is a European who has jumped ship in a desperate attempt to immigrate to America. He flees to New York City, where he is helped by a social outcast (Grahame) and a jazzman (Paris) who knows about Gassman's underground activities for the Allies during World War II. Documentary-style photography and atmospheric lighting work very nicely. A brief appearance by Teagarden and Rogers and his band, along with a hard jazzy score, gives the story an even more kinetic feel.
