A big, ambitious film adapted from a play by Novello, GLAMOROUS NIGHT is the story of a king (Kruger) who becomes infatuated with gypsy girl Ellis and thinks about abdicating. Jory is an evil prime minister who tries to use this development to his advantage. The film is overdone, with ineffective crowd scenes and flat photography.
