Originally produced for "Rebel Highway," Showtime's uneven series of remakes of 1950s AIP B features, this densely plotted women's prison picture is something different — a tongue-in-cheek melodrama that spoofs the babes-behind-bars subgenre, action-movie clichés and various '50s phenomena, including the McCarthy witchhunts.
