The climax is about as inexplicable as the title, but for the most part, director Anne-Sophie Birot's first feature is a sensitive, extraordinarily well-acted drama about the disintegrating friendship between two 15-year-old friends over the course of one pivotal summer. Written by Birot and the young Breton novelist Christophe Honoré, the film is rather conventionally divided into three parts.
