Ho-hum. Period biography of Emily Dunning Barringer, THE GIRL IN WHITE depicts her struggle to join the male-dominated medical profession as a doctor in 1902. Related in a semidocumentary style, the film follows Emily (Allyson) through medical school to New York's Bellevue Hospital. Whoever cast Allyson should have been interred there.
