A WW II screwball comedy about Ameche, the son of a Venezuelan rubber planter, who travels to New York to negotiate a loan to expand his father's company. Bennett is a rich American girl whose assets have been frozen in England for the duration of the war, rendering her penniless. She rents her apartment to Ameche and stays on as his maid. After some typically goofy situations in the apartment, the two fall in love, split, and then reunite after Bennett helps Ameche get his loan. leave a comment
