Dancehall gal Del Rio stars in this version of the hit Broadway play "The Dove," and she spends her time trying to give caballero Carrillo the brushoff. She has a vendetta against him because he sent her lover, Foster, to a foreign jail. A remake of a 1928 silent, GIRL OF THE RIO was itself remade as THE GIRL AND THE GAMBLER in 1939. leave a comment
