Collier gets herself in a colossal jam when she arrives for an audition at a nightclub just as the owner is getting polished off by unfriendly gangsters, Lane, Newell, and Brophy. Barker, a photographer, helps her out of her spot and in the process falls in love with her. Collier does
manage to make it to the stage in a performance of "The Pirates Of Penzance," after which the killers are jailed.
