A mediocre boxing romance-musical, THE GIRL FROM MONTEREY stars Armida as the manager-sister of a boxer known as Baby (Anthony Caruso), who is scheduled to fight Jerry O'Leary (Terry Frost). The trouble is, she doesn't want the match to take place because she's in love with O'Leary.
