GIRL, INTERRUPTED

Director James Mangold's adaptation of Susanna Kaysen's mental-illness memoir was meant to reintroduce Winona Ryder as a serious actress. What it did was introduce people to the idea of costar and Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie as a force to be reckoned with. When Jolie's onscreen, everyone else might as well lie down and play dead.
