Ghost Catchers

1944, Movie, NR, 67 mins

starstarstarstar
An exceptionally wild comedy from the team of Olsen and Johnson, who are pitted against ghosts this time. They are the owners of a nightclub who aid their new neighbor and his family when their house is discovered to be haunted. Lon Chaney, Jr. plays a bear, while Andy Devine is cast as a horse. This strange film is full of such oddities, another being a cameo by singer Mel Torme playing the drums. Tunes include:"Blue Candlelight" (Paul Francis Webster, Harry Revel); "These Foolish Things" (Harry Link, Holt Marvell, Jack Strachey); "I'm Old Enough to Dream" (Everett Carter, Edward Ward); "Three Cheers for the Customer," (Webster, Revel); "Swanee River," "Quoth The Raven." leave a comment
