To wipe his horse-racing debts clean, Berle hands over his art gallery to bookie Romero. After meeting gallery manager Landis, Romero begins to take a greater interest in the art world. Soon they hook up with Naish, an egotistical painter of forgeries, who brings it all to a humorous head
when they start auctioning off the copies he's done. Elisha Cook, Jr., also appears, supplying some laughs as a wisecracking, starving artist.
