Lewis found the most success when Tashlin was directing, and THE GEISHA BOY is a perfect example. A zany comedy with Lewis as an unsuccessful magician who takes a job with a USO tour show in the Orient. He gets into situations with McDonald, the troupe's headliner, and with MacLane, an officer who can't wait for his own funeral because he loves "Taps." In Japan, Lewis falls in love with a Japanese widow, McCarthy, and her son adopts him. Plenty of sight gags, parodies, and physical comedy that work well, thanks to Lewis' timing and Tashlin's writing and strong direction. leave a comment
