1935, Movie, NR, 75 mins

starstarstarstar
Dee is a small-town girl who wins a $5,000 lottery and goes to New York City to live like a queen. She meets Lederer, a bellboy who turns out to be a real-life prince, and Dee gets her wish to be a queen. This light but artful effort was one of director Wyler's rare comedies. For those interested in semantic coincidence and linguistic development, Wyler's other major directorial effort that same year was titled THE GOOD FAIRY. leave a comment
