This was Reynolds' first directorial effort, and he continues the adventures of his character from the movie WHITE LIGHTNING (1973). Reynolds is forced by federal agents to help nab a corrupt political boss and school friend, Reed. The agents get his cooperation by threatening to throw his father into jail for moonshining.
