This biographical made-for-cable film about British Prime Minister Winston Chrichill and the years 1936-1939 leading up to WWII does justice to its larger-than-life central figure without giving short shrift to larger historical events. In the 1930s, Churchill (Albert Finney) was regarded as something of an imperialist relic and with a pacifist prime minister in office the English parliament was in no mood for Churchill's anti-Gandhi, pro-Empire sentiments.
