Bronson is an unassuming Los Angeles high-school teacher who witnesses a gangland slaying and reluctantly agrees to testify against the hit men. The gang retaliates and Bronson's pregnant wife, Henry, is killed during an attack on his house. The incensed Bronson seeks revenge and goes
after the gang leader, Doucette, who has gotten embroiled with the national syndicate. After breaking into Doucette's mansion and seeing him go crazy, Bronson lets the police and the court system take care of the rest. This film paved the way for the development of the Bronson character
stereotype, that of a quiet, peaceful man driven to violence (DEATH WISH).
