In the early days of television, Alda and his wife, Paige, are determined to break into this new form of show biz. Paige has a double role, playing both Alda's wife and the TV singing-star look-alike who is forced to leave a show. The producers are desperate for someone who looks like her to take over, so who gets the call? This was intended to be a spoof of TV but it never takes any real chances.
