One of the many films to come out of the postwar Italian Neo-Realism movement. Pola is a bored housewife cheating on her horse breeder husband with Brazzi, an employee of her husband. The husband's daughter by a former marriage ends up marrying Brazzi, but this doesn't stop the affair. In
the end, Pola is strangled by a crude stablehand who has lusted after her throughout the film. Daring for its time, with a sexuality not found in American films. (In Italian; English subtitles.)
