From A Roman Balcony

This tedious "art" film burdened with obvious political symbolism and allegory was cowritten by Pier Paolo Pasolini, whose own films aren't much better. The story concerns a day in the life of an obnoxiously simple, tenement-dwelling young man, Sorel, who spends much of the movie looking for a job so that he can marry his sweetheart, Ciangottini. He goes to the office of a shady lawyer to find work, but the lawyer ignores him. Depressed, Sorel spots a former lover, Valerie, who is now a prostitute; he makes love to her. Bored, he accompanies her to her next trick. The customer turns out to be the lawyer, and Sorel blackmails him into providing a job. Soon Sorel fin...
