This postwar drama concerns a German nurse, Frieda (Mai Zetterling) who saves the life of RAF officer Robert Dawson (David Farrar) by helping him escape from a prison camp. To return the favor and get Frieda out of Germany, Robert marries her and brings her to his small hometown in England
