Freshman Year

Somewhat amusing campus comedy featuring Lundigan as an enterprising underclassman who hits upon the idea of selling "flunk" insurance to students for 50 cents a policy. If a student flunks his or her test, the insurance pays a ten-dollar settlement. The scheme sells like wildfire, but disaster strikes when professor Truex fails nearly the whole class, causing Lundigan to teeter on the brink of bankruptcy until he makes a bundle promoting the annual college show. Look for perennial costar Don Defore in a small role, as well as Alan Ladd in one of his many bit parts during the time he roomed with other struggling young actors Rory Calhoun and Sunset Carson.
