The French Conspiracy

1973, Movie, PG, 125 mins

starstarstarstar
A fictionalized version of a scandal that occurred in France in 1965 when Moroccan leftist leader Ben Barka was kidnaped, compromising the French government. The film, however, receives a dismal treatment that lacks any sense of drama. Morricone's fine score and Semprun's writing (Semprun also penned Z by Costa-Gavras and STAVISKY by Resnais, both centering on political conspiracy) should help but do not. leave a comment
