An odd film starring Beymer (still trying to live down his WEST SIDE STORY image) and Wood (Natalie's sister) as lovers who need cash. They fall in with low-life gang leader Tamblyn, who talks them into smuggling marijuana from Mexico into Los Angeles. When Beymer balks at the killing of
two narcotics agents and tries to back out of the deal, Tamblyn and his cronies put LSD in Beymer's drink, try to set him on fire, and kidnap Wood. Eventually, Beymer snaps out of it, rescues Wood, and warns hippies to stay away from the "free grass." Classic trash.
